"[El autor] nos ofrece sus conocimientos, pero en un estilo ajeno a los de los sesudos investigadores, de tal manera que todo está digerido de una manera propicia para fustigar el interés de los lectores, sean éstos aficionados a la historia o no". (Diario de Navarra, 28.2.06)
Tras denodados esfuerzos para entender la licencia literaria (y, de paso, toda la palabrería que la rodea) he llegado a la conclusión de que la intención del libro comentado, tal como la ha visto el crítico, es la de espantar a los lectores. Al menos yo, si me fustigaran el interés o cualquier otra parte de mi persona, pondría pies en polvorosa de inmediato. No se me ocurre otra explicación.
